Agassiz Recreational Trail Joint Powers Agreement
The Agassiz Recreational Trail board adopted the Joint Powers agreement effective January 1, 2007, by and between the Counties of Clay, Norman and Polk, and all political subdivisions of the State of Minnesota. In executing this agreement, the participating Counties indicate their joint purpose to develop and maintain trails for the public use and enjoyment, develop educational opportunities to the general public, provide for the enhancement of wildlife, and the promotion of, enjoyment of, and appreciate for our natural environment. Without being limited to the purposes or procedures identified herein, the member Counties specifically intend that this agreement shall permit them through the “Agassiz Recreational Trail Joint Powers Board”, its committees and subcommittees to make application for and receive grant and subsidy program, benefits, acquire easements and fee simple title and other interests in land and to participate in such governmental programs as individual members themselves could, and to cooperate with and work jointly with other governmental entities for the purposes herein stated.
